Quadrant Australia has been specialising in outstanding experiences for over 30 years, both within Australia and overseas. Our agricultural and special interest tours showcase the best of sights and sounds in each country and also give an insight into agricultural practices around the world.

Can you provide a brief overview of the variety of destinations some of your tours will be offering for 2019?

For 2019 we have revitalised some of our old favorites and also introduced some brand new tours. You can combine Californian agriculture with the excitement of the Calgary Stampede, share a glass of wine in the vineyards of Italy with a local winemaker or enjoy a chat around a barbecue, swapping stories with Argentinian gauchos.

In May we’re offering GLORIOUS GARDENS OF THE UK, visiting castles, stately homes and historic manor houses, generally surrounded by beautiful gardens and fabulous trees. Stay in historic locations, including Edinburgh, the Lake District, the Cotswolds and Bath and finish up in London with a visit to the Royal Horticultural Society’s flagship event – the Chelsea Flower Show.

Maybe your preference would be Japan, a country of spectacular natural beauty with gentle rural landscapes contrasting with modern, vibrant cities. The AGRICULTURAL HIGHLIGHTS OF JAPAN showcases Japanese agriculture, which is steeped in tradition but in many instances has adapted to modern production and management techniques. The tour also includes many of the country’s famous historic cities, where you can experience the centuries-old traditions for which Japan is famous.

South Africa might be more appealing. On our BEST OF SOUTH AFRICA tour, meet with local farmers and enjoy their generous hospitality on this fantastic tour, which showcases the best of South African agriculture. Attend NAMPO Field Days and see some of South Africa’s best livestock and horticulture. Travel the winelands of the Western Cape and see exceptional wildlife at Madikwe Game Reserve on the Botswana border.

July has many destinations on offer:

Join Dale Plumb for the HORSE DEALS EQUINE TOUR TO UK AND IRELAND.  Experience the thrill of attending high-profile equestrian events, such as the Royal Hickstead Show in Sussex and the Dublin Horse Show, both showcasing the best of what their country has to offer. The tour also includes a visit to the Irish National Stud, plus visits to private breeders and top trainers.

Come to grips with the USA’s massive beef cattle industry while travelling through the American Wild West on the USA BEEF CATTLE TOUR AND CALGARY STAMPEDE.  Travel from Colorado north through “Cowboy Country”, visiting cattle ranches and commercial producers in Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Then head north to Calgary, for the lively and colourful Calgary Stampede.

Join Tony Searle, long-time Territorian Cattleman, on the TOP END CATTLE TOUR. Follow in the footsteps of the early pioneers and visit some of Australia’s famous cattle stations. Appreciate the rich history of the Outback and experience Australia’s ancient landscapes, including the World Heritage sites of Kakadu and Katherine Gorge.

In August, indulge the senses and experience the diversity of agriculture, including Mediterranean crops, olives, cured meats, wine, chocolate and cheese on the ITALIAN LAKES AND SWISS ALPS TOUR. Visit World Heritage Sites, see magnificent countryside and sample delicious regional produce at local Farmers’ Markets and artisan producers.

October is time to experience the SOUTH AMERICAN BEEF TOUR. A continent of surprises with spectacular scenery, vibrant culture and cosmopolitan cities, but it’s the agriculture – so different from Australia that will amaze our travellers.

These are just a taste of the variety of tours on offer.
