“The casting’s done, the models are chosen, and the gold reserve tickets have been the first to go. The Mercedes-Benz Coffs Coast Fashion Gala is really heating up.”
It’s being described as the night of all nights on the Coffs Coast, with the fashion conscious from as far away as the Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth purchasing tickets to sit front row at this prestigious event.
Local ladies are already booking in to have their hair and makeup done and the search is on to find the perfect designer dress to wear, while the men are pulling out their finest suit for the big night.
VIP guests include top Australian designer Lisa Brown and her husband to watch Lisa’s next collection feature on the gala’s runway. Nansi Sonya, international model and runner-up in the television series SupermodelMe, will be flying in from Singapore to host the event.
The gala is supported by some of the finest local businesses as a glamorous way to promote regional excellence in our local area. An educational element has also been added, with local fashion, hair and beauty students invited backstage to see the working of a large scale fashion show first hand.
A thirty strong team of the coast’s best hair and makeup stylists has been assembled by creative director Lauren Vestey and head stylist Mickeela Tonycliffe, to create the hair and makeup magic that will be unfurled on the night.
Before guests even reach their seats, they will be dazzled by the top of the line pre-release Mercedes-Benz adorning the resort’s atrium. They will be surrounded by the sparkle of Passion 8 and Argyle pink diamonds, the world’s finest, draped over the moving mimes of Kennedy Jewellers, while enjoying the pre-show bubbles and delicious canapés during the cocktail hour.
Once seated (with goodie bag in hand), the je ne sais quoi of fourteen fashion stories will begin to unfold with the added element of live dance performances headed by Morgan Holt, the talented local export who has delayed an international dance posting to choreograph for the show. After the astonishing special effects, including body paint and black lights, have subsided, the fun doesn’t end, with the gala’s official after party taking place at the resort – where all guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the industry’s finest and congratulate the stars of the show.
If you haven’t booked in to stay the evening at Pacific Bay, you may want to do so soon!
The widest variety of next season fashion will grace the catwalk on local and national male and female models in a format never before seen in regional Australia. Everything from lingerie to ball gowns and all in between will be seen throughout the gala, with the upcoming season samples being couriered in from all over for the show prior to being available in the wonderful fashion boutiques sprinkled throughout our beautiful area. The label Lisa Brown deserves a special mention, with the designer herself flying in to attend and enjoy a weekend escape thanks to Pacific Bay.
The whole Summer 2013 collection, available locally through Nik and She, will be a major feature of the evening, with the event team recently shooting some of the pieces as a sneak peek for you to see.
The pieces pictured in this article are not even available in stores and won’t be until after the gala, but you saw it here first and will see it before anyone else at the Mercedes-Benz Coffs Coast Fashion Gala.
Tickets are available at the resort on 6659 7000 or online at www.fashiongala.com.au
