How long have you lived on the Coffs Coast, and what do you love about it?

I have lived in Bellingen for over 10 years now. I love the lifestyle here and feel very blessed to be able to have a successful business here and also live in paradise!

> Tell us about your salon in Bellingen.

Paris Skye Salon and Spa started about 9 years ago. We use the popular Jurlique range in our treatments, as well as retailing the range. We offer a boutique service to our clients, including all aspects of beauty therapy, as well as the divine spa treatments.

We like to offer every client a little bit of luxury, with a high focus on exceptional customer service.

> You’ve won a series of awards for the salon. Tell us about those.

Back in 2005 I won the APAA National Award for Best Sole Practitioner Establishment. Since then I have expanded into a second room and now have a fabulous team of highly skilled therapists working with me. I then went on to win the prestigious Clients Choice Salon of the Year in 2008. We were all smiles after the 2010 National Awards, taking out the finalist Clients Choice Salon of the Year and winning the prestigious Small Business of the Year award!

> You’ve just launched The Paris Skye Collection. What is the collection, and where did the inspiration come from?

The Paris Skye Collection was inspired by my two recent trips to Italy and Europe. I really wanted to bring a little bit of that luxury and Euro-Chic back to Bellingen.

The range is absolutely gorgeous, very girly and includes beautiful French ruffle parasols, gorgeous makeup clutches, diamante tweezers, Italian princess mirrors, also beautiful lavender and rose epsom bath salts, rose and lavander cocoon body scrubs and lip balms, all hand made!

My handmade body products are inspired by my years of working in the industry and are the perfect gift, using the benefits of aromatherapy in an all natural product. I have great fun making these, as well as putting together the accessories. Items are sourced from both overseas and here in Australia, all with that little touch of European luxury.

> Tell us about travelling overseas for conferences and buying and how these experiences have influenced you.

I was chosen by the National Beauty Therapy Association to go to Cosmoprof Beauty Expo in Bologna, Italy this year.

This was an amazing experience for me, to network with other salon owners from accross the globe and source some divine products, such as my Italian princess dresser, handheld and compact mirrors. All available online: visit my website for link to online store.

> What are your plans for the salon and your collection in 2011?

Wow, there is loads happening in salon … the salon is going so well at the moment in my beautiful new European inspired treatment rooms. Complete with black chandeliers and Catherine Martin Wall paper (Catherine Martin was the Australian designer of the Costumes for Moulin Rouge!).

I am looking to launch a second product range to run alongside Jurlique called Indio, Australian high performance antiaging skincare (I actually won an opening order of $4,000 as my prize for the awards this year). Indio seems to be taking Australia by storm, and my clients who have been trialling it have loved the results!

We are also looking into adding a mineral makeup to our salon; we are currently researching the myriad of brands available to find the best one for our clients.

We are launching our signature Rose Cocoon Body Scrub using my handmade products, perfect to detoxify and nourish the skin; the rose also works on a deeper level nurturing the heart and leaving you tingling from top to toe! One hour – $75.

I also plan to add to my collection as I find beautiful interesting pieces; keep an eye on my website and join me on Facebook for updates!

> Thank you Paris.
