Travel Time – We still call Australia Home

With international travel being so affordable and accessible, many people are asking why should they travel within Australia. We asked our travel guru, Kerry Moss, to tell us some of her top picks for our home country.

Sydney or Melbourne
The debate rages on. Whether you’re a diehard Sydney fan or a Melbourne lover, both cities are diverse and interesting. Sydney’s Harbour is one of the most beautiful in the world, whilst Melbourne’s Eat-Street is home to some of the world’s top restaurants. With regular flights from the Coffs Coast, either city is accessible and ideal for a weekend getaway. The Rocks Markets in Sydney’s historic Rocks area are an enticing place to find quirky gifts and with views of the Harbour and Sydney Opera House, it’s a visual reminder of why Sydney is a favourite to many. Not to be outdone, Melbourne offers world class theatre and hosts some of Australia’s top sporting events.

Great Barrier Reef
If you haven’t been there, then get on board. One of Australia’s most remarkable natural gifts and one of the world’s natural wonders, the Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef. The reef contains an abundance of marine life and literally hundreds of picturesque tropical islands, with some of the world’s most beautiful sun-soaked, golden beaches. It’s endangered and changing daily. Put it on your bucket list while you can still see it for its true beauty.

The Kimberley Region
Australia’s last frontier, rugged in her beauty, this part of Australia is like no other. Home to turquoise water, and rugged red landscapes, The Kimberley offers untouched landscape and authentic National Parks. The capital of this area, Broome, is a charming town with an interesting history including the pearling industry and a dinosaur footprint. Camel riding at sunset along Cable Beach offers a unique vantage point, whilst flying over the beehive domes of the Bungle Bungles offers you a complete contrasting experience.

There could never be enough time to highlight all of the amazing experiences Australia has to offer. Before heading overseas, why not consider a holiday at home?
